Darlene Rose (Ogletree) Longbotham passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 14, 2019, surrounded by her family at her home in Utopia, Texas. Darlene was born in Eldorado, Texas on July 15, 1938. She was raised in the towns of Utopia, Texas and Ingleside, Texas. She married her High School sweetheart, Kelly Longbotham at the Ingleside United Methodist Church.
Darlene graduated from Valley Baptist Medical Center, School for Nursing. She worked at different points of her life at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, Texas, Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, Taft Hospital in Taft, Texas, and the Aransas Pass Hospital in Aransas Pass, Texas.
Darlene is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Mary Rose Anna (Welch) Matthews and William H. Matthews. Parents, Gracie Jane (Matthews/Ogletree) Davenport and Roy James Ogletree. Sister, Mary Anna Lee (Ogletree) Fowler. Son, Emory Bruce Longbotham.
Darlene is survived by husband, Kelly Bruce Longbotham. Sisters, Joyce Lyn Carol (Ogletree) Easley, and Shirley Ann Davenport. Daughters, Janice Carol Longbotham, Karen Rose (Longbotham) Sweet (Bob Frank), and Carla Grace (Longbotham) Hamed (Waleed). Grandchildren, Kristin Rose (Sweet) Arthurs (Steve), Stephanie Michele Perry, Anthony Simon Sweet, Jennifer Nicole Perry, Steven (Aziz-Waleed) Dale (Ashley), Michael Ray Hamed, Darlene Grace (Hamed) Freehauf (Kyle), Sharif Ali Hamed (Senisa), Chris Mattis, Virginia Good, and Carrie April Dubey. She also has 12 Great-Grandchildren and numerous other family children that she dearly loved.
Darlene was a kind, patient, caring, loving, selfless, God fearing, good woman. She lived her life with a servants heart, full of joy that she could make a difference for her brothers and sisters in Christ. She will be greatly missed and always loved.
A Memorial Service for Darlene Longbotham will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2:00 pm @ the Utopia Baptist Church, in Utopia, Texas. Officiant Reverend Jeremy McCarty. Visitation and refreshments following afterwards in the Fellowship Hall.
