Two Republicans, Railroad Commissioner Christi Craddick and former state Sen. Don Huffines, have announced their requests for Texas treasurer in 2026 on Friday after recent Comptroller Glenn Hagar was named the next Texas A&M University System president.
Craddick, the present head of the Railroad Commission of Texas, first announced her candidacy by saying,” Serving for more than a decade as Railroad Commissioner has truly prepared me to help Texas build upon its speed as the financial engine of the United States”.
