Let’s discuss the Football Jig, one of the best large guitar bait available. They can mimic any normal hunt that swims or crawls in your Texas body of water, including shrimp, bream, and others.
When using the same jig, you can get 100 bass and only need to replace a few trailers; however, if you’re using smooth plastics, your luck will be limited to catching 3 fish before the bait is thrown away.
I frequently reach for a Santone Pro Series Football Jig on warm, hot summer days in Northeast Texas. A trailer keeper is mounted on the shank, and they have a large 5 / 0 Gamakatsu hook. They just use high-quality rubber skirts and heads with powder coatings. To find my rod full quickly and keep it there, I prefer the 12 and 34 ounce models. These lures are also produced ideal here in Texas.
Given that I typically fish these lures in 12 to 30 feet of water, I don’t get too mad with tones when it comes to them. A small piece of red or green bird, in my opinion, is more for the fisherman than the animal at these depths. I divide them into the DARK and Healthy color classes.
DARK-
I prefer the darker colored rods on a cloudy or overcast summers day because of their better rankings in low light. These three simple DARK shade jigs will be very noticeable in the depths you are fishing at this time of year.
Normal Colours-
I always have some Healthy colored jigs tied on when it is a” azure bird” or very windy day. These baits continuously catch fish and have Organic color tones. They can be fished at any depth and time of year. Since the natural colors carefully match local forage, the nature of the colour of these baits makes them very effective on extremely pressured waters. These are three of my favourite hues.
TRAILERS-
90 % of the time when choosing a rod video, I try to match the song. I’ll only ever use a different dance video during the pre-spawn. A Strike King Rage Chunk, a girl trend craw, and an Netbait Paca part or Baby paca crane are my favorite jig trailers. All of these vans have sizable appendages that keep the fish streamlined while reducing the power of the rod and adding some bulk. I typically dye the flappers’ wallpaper ends if I’m using a natural-colored Jig truck. I adore the garlic-scented I-Spikeit dipping dyes, and I use the pen sprayer for different applications.
GEAR-
This experience it, we expect to get a BIG kick bite when we throw great football jigs in the summer. Therefore, when tying on a soccer dance, don’t skimp on your equipment. Bass will get dragged out of the lake’s thickest, sturdiest, and heaviest include by you. 90 % of the time, I throw 20 lb Floro; however, if I’m fishing for a lot of Bois’d circle or pine plants, you can count on me. For this type of rod fish, I’m not a big supporter of plait to floro combinations. The twist sounds like a saw rubbing arms in the wood because there is only one more tie left to fail. I enjoy using an IROD 7’7″ Andy’s Flipping Stick. A long rod with a long cast can also quickly turn large bass out of dense cover. For serious football jigging, I’ll often use a 7’3″ or longer pole in big action.
I use a 6.4 : 1 gear ratios for the reel. It moves slowly enough to prevent you from fishing too quickly, and it moves quickly enough for you to get the guitar to the ship without losing your arm.
TECHNIQUE-
A soccer dance can be fished in a variety of ways, and I’m sure you’ve heard plenty of tips and ideas. My best piece of advice is to slooow down a bit more if you think you are fishing slowly. How many times have you dropped your rod to get a sip, looked up something on the phone, or used the restroom before picking it back up to find fish? I can’t matter how often this has happened to me. Here, you can skip a jig, stroke it, or add in your own way. In my experience with Major fish, I prefer an almost terrible SLOW pull and stop technique. When looking for bass, I don’t use strategy, but I do once I’ve found the roadbed or brush pile where the bass is.
I’m hoping that these pointers will be helpful to you the next time you go camping this summer while wearing a sports jig.
