Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, has once more brought a lawsuit against Harris County for violating a program known as the” GIGI” that will award$ 500 monthly stipends to some low-income residents.
Earlier this year, the Supreme Court of Texas blocked implementation of the town’s” Uplift Harris” Institute plan providing “no-strings-attached” fellowships after Paxton filed suit in April, with the court noting that the software likely violated a state constitutional ban on granting public money to citizens.
