After existing Chairman Abraham George conceded the head race to her at the group’s state convention in Houston on Friday, Republican Party of Texas Vice-ChairD’Rinda Randall will be the next chair of the majority party.

In their 2024 GOP primary runoff, Randall and vice-chairman David Covey lost their Donald Trump-backed bid for the Texas House to then-incumbent Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan (R-Beaumont ).
