The New World Screwworm ( NWS ) controversy has sparked heated debates in the Texas House and a Democratic member of the chamber.

The dangerous flesh-eating animal parasite known as NWS was discovered in a baby in Zavala County last week after being recently eradicated in the nation in the country in the 1960s. The U.S. Department of Agriculture ( USDA ) has since reported and confirmed three additional cases.
