Beginning August 29 and continuing through September 25, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries ( LDWF ) announced the Louisiana Black Bear Hunting Lottery.
The bear hunt, administered by LDWF, will remain confined to Bear Management Area 4, which includes Tensas, Madison, East Carroll and West Carroll churches and regions of Richland, Franklin and Catahoula districts. The time will start Dec. 7, 2024 and run through Dec. 22, 2024.
Lottery applications are available only on the LDWF website at https ://louisianaoutdoors.com/lottery-applications. Those who want to apply if release or create their customer information, related to how to update a permit, and then submit an application. A true black bear hunting license is necessary before applying to WMA and the Black Bear Lotteries in public. A$ 50 non-refundable application fee will be charged to each person. All applicants will be notified of their results via email as well as at https ://louisianaoutdoors.com/lottery-applications.
A total of 10 grants will become issued for the 2024 jackpot. Bear harvest permits will consist of three types: Wildlife Management Area ( WMA ), Private Landowner, and General. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries ‘ website, Black Bear Hunting Lottery, contains application directions.
Effective applicants will need to take an LDWF keep hunter training program on either November 2 or November 14 to begin hunting, with the department encouraging attendance on the date of Nov. 2 if possible. People who do not enroll in one of these programs may be disqualified and revoke their bear hunting license.
