In 2003 leaders with Texas A&M cloned a whitetail deer. It’s name was” Dewey”.
According to a report from The Huffington Post that flew under the radar during the pandemic in 2021, a Texas farmer cloned lots of antelope after that.
Krause filed the act on behalf of Texas-based American native Jason Abraham, who claimed to have cloned between 35 and 40 deer over the past ten years. Last November, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department approved a legislation prohibiting animal cloning.
I contacted Texas Parks & Wildlife Department ( TPWD ) Big Game Program Leader Mitch Lockwood about cloning in Texas in response to the illegal cloning of a Marco Polo sheep.
” TPWD does not have regulatory authority over exotic wildlife, but cloning of white-tailed deer and mule deer is prohibited” ,he said.
What are your emotions on cloning animals? Did you know that Texas ‘ whitetails had been cloned?
