The Texas State Parks Pass is increasing from$ 70 to$ 95 per year starting on September 1. It gives passholders and their guests unrestricted, free day-use access to all 88 Texas State Parks. The price has increased only once more since the system was instituted in 2004.
Emily Kreindler, Texas State Parks Marketing and Brand Manager, said,” We hope people take advantage of the next few months by getting their monthly Texas State Parks Pass before the rate rises this fall. Summertime is a great time to take in fresh gardens and perhaps share some experience with family and friends. This is the ideal time to do it if you’ve always considered purchasing a garden move.
There are specific events at parks that happen only during the summertime, added Kreindler.
” Some gardens actually pull out all the stops and create an ideal setting for summer fun,” Kreindler said. ” Garner State Park hosts a party every day through the summer from 8: 30- 11 p. m. until half- August. The Pioneer Amphitheater at Palo Duro Canyon State Park hosts the TEXAS Outdoor Musical on Tuesdays through Sundays. The display tells the stories, challenges and triumphs of early settlers through music, dancing, lights and lots of Texas humor”!
Texas State Parks advantages extend beyond the front door, including a half-price disregard for traveling for two or more nights when visitors stay at the same campsite or screened shelter for the first time. Additionally, residents of the State Parks Getaways e-newsletter with seasonal activity suggestions and features, receive 10 % off most retail and rental things and garden stores, as well as special savings for activities and events. Also, the shipping and handling fee that was once in place for online and telephone pass orders will no longer use.
Current Texas State Parks Pass holders who have a pass expiring after Sept. 1 can renew early (up to 150 days prior to expiration ) to get another 12 months of pass benefits at the$ 70 price.
The Youth Group Annual Pass (YGA ), which grants free access to state parks to nonprofit youth group members and a number of adult sponsors, will increase from$ 100 to$ 150. Applications for YGA that were submitted in August but received by September 1 or later will be subject to the new price.
