We are experiencing summertime because of the extreme heat and temperature. Down below in South Texas, it is no wonder to us. You can survive these miserable summer time on the water by being prepared for this kind of harsh environment. Having said that, swim fishing is a must-do for us, almost like playing billiards after mow the lawn.
We leave the dock first so we can be there at once as the sun rises during the summer. As we prepare to plunge into the water anticipating that first large bottom water explosion, it also gets my adrenaline pumping after doing it thousands of times.
Our second stop of the day usually occurs on a level that we are aware has a lot of bait. These fish are searching for the South Texas breakfast taco ( the first food of the day ) as they cruise the cottages, oh! Our early-morning army consists of Mansfield Knocker, which has j hooks, which allow us to fish in areas of Upper Laguna Madre’s Upper Laguna. Unlike the triple hooks, it allows the grass to fall off the j pins. In my opinion, Black Drum does n’t get the recognition as it deserves being a sport fish. They are pretty darn sweet and as tough as a Redfish. This species may be targeted as a result of the new rules for trout this year.
I suggest that you organize your time around major and minor feed times so that you can be positioned in a place with good water and fish, where you can expect to see a rise in your successful harvest.
Our coastal waters are crowded with pleasure boats, kite surfers, kayakers, jet skiers, and kite surfers as usual during this time of year. Everyone should consider making sure they are protected on the water and practice being respectful and responsible because we all want to enjoy the sun.
