Galante suffered numerous physical injuries and required extensive medical care while trying to protect her puppy from the bear. The mother bear’s aggressive behavior was eventually put to death.
According to a report from Global News, a woman was attacked by a bear while running on a path in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. She was bitten and knocked down before escaping with minor wounds. Since then, conservation officers have placed warning symptoms in the area to inform others of the possible danger.
