On February 24, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department ( TPWD ) Community Archery Program will collaborate with Brazos Bend State Park to assist the public in” Explore Bowhunting.”
Before the future archery season for white-tailed deer, participants have the chance to gain more knowledge about bow hunting.
This is a great event to enhance your skills, deeper your knowledge, and understand what it takes to be savvy bowhunter, said Adam Lewis, TPWD community archery specialist.” Whether you are an experienced archer, beginner, or just starting to get interest in the sport of bowery and bowhunting,” he said. ” This is an all-ages function, and it’s a great way to spend time with family and friends outside.”
Anyone interested in learning more about bowhunting is welcome to attend the free workshop ( with park entrance fee ) that is scheduled for 9 a. m. to 1 p. min. Individuals do not need to take their own archery equipment because TPWD may supply the necessary factory supplies.
The workshop focuses on the fundamentals of archery, shooting 3D targets, understanding an animal’s anatomy and shot placement, animal processing (skinning, quartering, or butchering ), cooking demonstrations, gear examples, and youth-oriented activities. The event may be followed by an A3D archer competition.
The game starts at 2:15 p. m., and registration is minimal and begins at 1:15 pm.
The TPWD Community Archery Program operates under the” train the trainer” unit, instructing teachers and leaders in spectrum set-up, health, program design, and training using a national archer in the Schools Program curriculum. The curriculum is designed for neighborhood organizations like schools, military installations, veterans ‘ organizations, scouts, camps, parks, recreation areas, and more. Additionally, it offers tools and certified to host an audience for a portable archery range.
Explo Bowhunting and Explore Bowfishing software is offered by community archer experts and introduces these abilities to new audiences through activities and discussion. The activities held at this event will include some of the education on screen.
