As Trump's PAC places a$ 10 million ad buy, MAGA Inc. cavalry arrives for Paxton in the Texas Senate.

WASHINGTON — The main pro-Trump super PAC, MAGA Inc., conducted a$ 10 million ad buy in the Texas Senate race following months of rumors about whether President Donald Trump would use his extensive promotion resources there.

The purchase, which will pay for online advertising and television streaming, is MAGA Inc.’s initial general election expenditure, underlining the significance of the Texas Senate race for Trump’s political operation and the contest’s competitive nature.

Republican ally of the president Ken Paxton will receive half of the$ 10 million budget, while Democrat James Talarico will receive the other half of the money. The advertising spend was made public on Saturday afternoon in an FEC processing.

The ad buy by MAGA Inc. comes in the wake of Elon Musk, a prominent Republican, becoming involved in a second major GOP person, in the Senate race. To date, Musk’s America PAC has spent$ 1.4 million on printing and digital media against Talarico.

Trump’s very PAC’s funding comes as Republicans have publicly and privately urged the president to get involved in Texas, where polls have consistently shown Talarico with a small prospect and where the Democrat has significantly outperformed Paxton and the GOP over the summer. Talarico raised more than$ 30 million in the second quarter, while Paxton earned more than$ 9 million.

The competition is rated as a toss-up, according to several social analysts in Texas, a place where Democrats haven’t won a state election in more than three decades.

Talarico’s representatives claimed that the ads are fabricating the Democrat’s tax records.

According to Talarico spokesperson JT Ennis, billionaire-backed dark money groups are lying about James Talarico because they fear the people-powered movement we’re building to fix this broken, corrupt political system. James was pleased to support the largest property tax reduction in Texas ‘ history, and he has consistently supported working-class Texans ‘ taxes.

Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC affiliated with Senate Majority Leader John Thune, has not invested any money into Texas in the general election despite having ad reservations in nearly every other competitive Senate race. Thune encouraged the president to spend in Texas on Fox earlier this week, acknowledging the state’s expensive nature ( Texas has 20 media markets and is a much pricier endeavor for campaigns and PACs to buy statewide airtime ) and acknowledging the state’s expensive nature.

In a primary runoff, Paxton defeated Sen. John Cornyn, a traditionally more successful fundraiser and Republican nominee for the Senate. After the president weighed in a week before the runoff election date, he was boosted by Trump’s endorsement. Paxton praised Trump and made the distinction between himself and Talarico on tax policy while discussing the ad and saying” together we will win for Texas and America.”

Talarico spent much of the summer on the airwaves outspoken to voters, introducing himself through positive ads before going against Paxton in a television ad criticizing him over corruption allegations in late August.

Prior to MAGA Inc.’s arrival, Paxton had received air support from Lone Star Liberty, the principal pro-Paxton organization that has so far spent$ 18.9 million on the general election, a super PAC that backs Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, a dark money organization called Preserve Texas Inc., and an outside organization that is funded by West Texas billionaire Tim Dunn.

Democrats have spent$ 41.7 million, almost entirely from Talarico, to Republicans ‘$ 24.3 million on the Senate race in Texas as of right now, before MAGA Inc.’s ads have started running.

Ad spending on this race could surpass Texas ‘ record by November. According to Cruz, spending could reach$ 200 million. AdImpact tracked$ 202 million in general election advertising spending in his 2024 contest with Democrat Colin Allred, which he won by 8.5 percentage points.
