Years of Texans have cherished Big Bend National Park and the surrounding area. Farmers, environmentalists, and politicians from both sides of the aisle have been enraged by the Trump administration’s efforts to build a frontier challenge through the area in recent days.

Rodney Scott, the commissioner of customs and border protection, visited the area last week to learn about regional concerns and halted any construction. César Blanco, a state senator from D-El Paso, and Scott met to discuss how to balance border police and protecting natural resources.

Alejandro Serrano, a journalist for the Texas Tribune, and Blanco and the Texas Tribune’s Alejandro Serrano add the TribCast to discuss the border-barrier conflict that is currently raging in West Texas.
