New World screwworm ( NWS ) cases in Texas are now in the double digits, with the state’s 15th case confirmed on Sunday.

The dangerous flesh-eating animal parasite known as NWS was discovered in a baby in Zavala County in the first week of June after being recently eradicated in the country in the 1960s. 14 more local circumstances have been confirmed since that time.
