As early voting for Paxton and Corny n’s primary runoff began, new polling indicates that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Republican U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX ) are in dead heats against Democratic U.S. Senate nominee state representative James Talarico (D-Austin ) in a general matchup.

The Barbara Jordan Public Policy Research and Survey Center at Texas Southern University ( TSU) polled 1, 223 people who are thought to be likely to cast ballot in the November 2026 general election.
