The May 2 special election in Texas Senate District ( SD ) 4 will begin early voting on Monday for those who will represent the Southeast Texas area for the following nine months.
After former state senator Brandon Creighton was chosen to lead the Texas Tech University ( TTU) System as its president and chief executive officer in September 2025, SD 4 was left open, giving the city an unpaid name that will continue until January 2027.
