The Keller City Council has amended its purchasing policy to give preference to vendors who utilize the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify program to determine the employment eligibility of their employees.
Vendors who bid on city contracts of $100,000 or more are “encouraged” to use the E-Verify program, and their utilization of the system “may be used in determining the ‘best value’ for the city,” the policy states.
