Texas is suing the manufacturer of Tylenol for allegedly marketing the product toward pregnant women despite knowing the potential risks it poses for prenatal development, following the White House’s suggestion that the drug is linked to autism in children.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed the lawsuit against pharmaceutical companies Johnson & Johnson and Kenvue on Monday, alleging that the Tylenol manufacturers “hid” the danger of the product’s active ingredient, acetaminophen, to pregnant women and instead marketed it as their safest painkiller option.
