Texas’ Redrawn GOP-Favored Congressional District 32 Has Seven Republican Contenders So Far

The race for the newly-drawn Texas Congressional District (CD) 32 is filling up with Republican primary candidates. Congresswoman Julie Johnson (D-TX-32) has held the seat since 2025 after former Rep. Colin Allred ran for the U.S. Senate.

Before her election to Congress, Johnson served in the Texas Legislature as one of the state’s two openly homosexual legislators.
