Democratic Congress members are investigating alleged abuse of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) resources to “hunt down” Texas House Democrats breaking quorum after FBI Director Kash Patel approved Sen. John Cornyn’s (R-TX) request for additional law enforcement assistance.
In a letter addressed to both the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI, Reps. Greg Casar (D-TX-35), Jasmine Crockett (D-TX-30), Robert Garcia (D-CA-42), and Jamie Raskin (D-MA-08) demanded information about the FBI’s “involvement in efforts to locate or apprehend members of the Texas House of Representatives who are not accused of any federal crime but have chosen to break quorum during the current legislative session.”
