More than$ 336 billion in spending is on track for the Texas Legislature’s 2026–2027 biennium, but first, House members get a chance to amend the budget behemoth on the floor.
Nearly 400 modifications have been submitted in anticipation of the main event and the Texas House may join on Thursday for what is known as “budget evening.” The Senate’s starting resources totals$ 336 billion, making it the only legal requirement that the Legislature has each session.
